Sookie Stackhouse played by Anna Paquin	Sookie is a telepath. She has a brother named Jason, works in a bar named Melottes which is owned by Sam. She is the central character of all the stories. Described as : Blonde, blue-eyed, 25 years old with strong legs, substantial bosom and waspy waistline. Townspeople think she is a 'freak' and a little bit weird.

Carrie Preston as Arlene Fowler	Waitress at Merlotte's and sometime friend to Sookie Described as: Redhead and freckled and 10 years older than Sookie.
Lynn Collins as Dawn Green R.I.P.	Waitress at Merlotte's. **In the True Blood Series, she had been known to frequent Fangtasia and dated Jason off and on and was killed by the same murder as the other Vamp Lovers.
Lois Smith as Adele Hale Stackhouse R.I.P.	Sookie and Jason's grandmother. Described as: Very small and old, but her hair was still thick and so white it had the faintest of green tinges. She wears her hair braided at night and against her neck during the daytime. Died in DUD by Rene Lenier
Michael Raymond-James  as Rene Lenier	Jason's coworker and one of Arlene's many ex-husbands. In DUD he was the person who was murdering many 'loose' vampire loving women plus Sookie's grandmother. Described as: Small, swarthy with a bushy headful of rough black hair threaded with grey.

Danielle Sapia as Maudette Pickens	(Mentioned) in DUD as being murdered. She was a fang-banger. Died in DUD by Rene Lenier.
Eric Spencer	The parish Coroner and funeral director  of Spencer and Sons Funeral Home Described as: Heavy middle-aged man with hair and beard the color of weak tea w/ a fondness for cowboy boots and string ties.
William Sanderson as Bud Dearborn	Parish Sheriff of Bon Temps Described as: Middle-aged, fit and tough. Grey hair, mashed in face and 'quick' eyes. A good friend of Sookie's father once upon a time. He looks like a human Pekinese.
Jonas Stackhouse	(Mentioned) in DUD. Grandfather to Sookie and had built the house originally.

JB du Rone	He went to school with Sookie. She dated him a few times. Described as: Beautiful man with muscular arms and pecs. As handsome as a romance cover but not a brain in his head. River R.i.P.
Kenya Jones	Police officer, partner to Kevin. Described as: 5 foot 11, color of bitter chocolate and built to weather hurricanes.
Kevin Prior	Police officer, Kenya's partner. Sookie 'reads' in DTTW that he and his partner have love for each other. Described as: 5 foot 8, freckles over his entire (pale) body that was narrow as a runners.
Terry Bellefleur	Andy's 2nd cousin. Late 50s and a war veteran. He sometimes bartends at Merlotte's. Described as: red-haired, gray beard. Skin has is a bit red and scarred.
Layfayette Reynold R.I.P.	Merlotte's cook. Described as: Gay black male who wears alot of makeup. Died in LDD **In True Blood, he is given much more of a story, from being the town whore for men, to drug dealers, road crew worker, Merlotte's cook, Tara's cousin and the local V dealer.

Sterling Norris	Longtime friend of Sookie's grandmother, also Mayor of Bon Temps.
Maxine Fortenberry played by Dale Raoul	President of the Descendants of the Glorious Dead and friend to Grandma Stackhouse. She is the grandmother to Hoyt. Described as: A massive solid woman.
Toliver Humphries	(Mentioned) by Bill in DUD as a friend of his during the Civil War who died attempting to rescue a wounded boy. Later it is mentioned the boy was Jebediah Bellefleur

Alcee Beck	Only African American detective on the parish force. He feels uncomfortable around Sookie. Described: He was so black that his white shirt gleamed in contrast.

Barry	A doorman at the Silence Shore Hotel, he is a telepath like Sookie.
Bethany Rogers R.i.P.	Age 21 and works at the Bat's Wing and thought of herself to be a 'bad girl' . Found dead behind the Silent Shore Hotel shot execution style, after being questioned by Sookie the night before. Described as:  Mouth too small for her face, and a great quantity of brown hair, thick and bushy. She has a thin body with small breasts.
Desiree Dumas	Shared an apartment with Bethany. Described as: A little too plump, a little too blonde.
Re-Bar	A fangbanger and bouncer at The Bat's Wing.
Hugo Ayres	Boyfriend to Isabel and a lawyer who once represented Stan. Described as: About 30, tall and lanky with sandy hair. Conservative dresser with glasses.
Steve Newlin R.i.P.	Head of the Fellowship of the Sun. We first saw him in LDD then again in CD. He was responsible for staking Sookie and was then killed in CD. Described as: A tall lanky man, whose head does not look big enough for his body. Hazy blue eyes and a beaky nose, with dark brown hair hinting with gray.
Sarah Newlin	Wife of Steve Described as: In her 40's and looks sweet. Short brown hair and lovely skin and pouty lips.
Polly Blythe	Fellowship of the Sun, Ceremonies Officer. Described as: Tall woman with grey hair.
Gabe R.I.P	Gabe worked at the Fellowship of the Sun and attacked and tried to rape Sookie when she was held captive. He was killed by Godfrey. Described as: Handsome dark haired man with a bodybuilder's body and a crewcut.

She has a crush on Jason but has been hitting the sheets with Sam.
